Having schooled at the Doon School and Graduated from St. Stephens College, Delhi , Mr. Talukdar joined Oberoi Hotels as Management Trainee (OCLD) in 1976. On completion in 1978, he was posted to the Oberoi Sheraton (now Trident) at Nariman Point Mumbai as Assistant Manager, Lobby. in 1981, Mr. Talukdar was transferred to the Dammam Oberoi Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he remained for 5 years attaining a promotion to Senior Lobby Manager and a Dept. Head. He also attended the Summer Courses at Cornell University Ithaca New York in the Summer of 1984.
In 1986 Mr. Talukdar relocated to the Oberoi Palace Srinagar, Kashmir as Executive Assistant Manager. He left Oberoi Hotels in September 1988. Mr. Talukdar worked as GM of the Hans, New Delhi from 1988 to 1989, then opting to move to Mumbai as General Manager of The Resort on Aksa Beach where he worked for 2.5 years. In 1992 Mr. Talukdar left india for East Africa namely Dar Es Salaam Tanzania on an assignment with Msasani Peninsula Hotels Ltd. as General Manager. Than another assignment took him to Uganda where he was General Manager with the Madhvani Group’s Hospitality assets which included two 5 star wildlife Lodges and a Sailing Club in Jinja, Uganda.
In 1999 Mr. Talukdar returned to india only to be recalled by the Msasani Peninsula Hotels, Tanzania to open their new Golden Tulip Franchise hotel in Dar Es Salaam. Mr. Talukdar worked as GM & Consultant to the Golden Tulip established a team recruited from India & South Africa and finally returned to India in 2002.
He chose to get into Academics then, and joined Ram Institute of Hotel Management as Principal in 2003. In 2004, Mr. Talukdar moved to Graphic Era Institute of Technology (now University) as Director in the Faculty of Hotel Management where he worked for 1 year. In 2005, he chose to shift to the new Kukreja Institute in Ajabpur Dehradun where he still works as Director.
Mr. Talukdar is an MBA, holds a Diploma in French from the Alliance Francaise de Delhi and has written & published 2 text books called ‘parlez a l’hotel’ in two parts widely acclaimed and used as reference books by IHM’s in India.

EXPERIENCE : Mr. Bahuguna has a total of 25 years’ experience in the Hospitality industry of which he spent the initial 15 years with Hotels in India and Middle East, and 10 years in the academics.
Notable among the industry experience was his employment with such Hotels and chains as the iconic Imperial, New Delhi, H.R.H Group of Hotels Udaipur (Rajasthan), Ramee Group of Hotels Resorts and Apartments Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Bin Hendi Enterprises Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Ruby Tuesday International Dubai (United Arab Emirates) etc.
He has attended various seminars, workshops and Faculty Development Programmes. Prior to his present assignment with the institute, Mr. Bahuguna was with Ram Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Dehradun.
